CuriosityCloud Direct Connect is an easy-to-use omnichannel touchpoint, a service that can operate through any provider to the desired CurisosityCloud region. For most customers, it uses a commonly used connectivity, the Internet. This means that you can build a topology that can easily scale from a single connection to thousands of connections.
However, there are Edge cases that request Connectivity between your Office and/or Data Center and your CuriosityCloud Console. The scenarios that require this type of requirements are:

  • Public sector and regulated industries with high encryption requirements.
  • Customers with a history of poor internet service who require service levels with providers to improve network conditions.
  • Customers whose security protocols require minimizing exposure to traffic on a public wide area network (WAN).
  • Clients with resilience requirements on public and private links.
Customers with a history of poor internet service who require service levels with providers to improve network conditions

While Software as a Service (SaaS) adoption over the public Internet is widely used and reliable, there are circumstances in which Customers may require the service level guarantees on performance and latency that private links (LAN to LAN) can. provide. For these use cases, Direct Connect allows you to route traffic dedicated links to CuriosityCloud.

Customers whose security protocols require minimizing traffic exposure to the public WAN

Similar to the previous use cases, customers can have security policies in place to prevent business-critical traversing the public internet. These clients can use LAN to LAN links to avoid routing over the public Internet.
Please note that even though data is routed with IP addresses, the addresses are advertised via Direct Connect. Because of this, a more specific route is available on the customer’s router, which prioritizes this private data routing over the Direct Connect service. Once traffic reaches the CuriosityCloud Edge routers in the Region, a network address will do the translation and establish connectivity to reach the internal service.

Customers with requirements for resilience over public and private links

In some cases, meeting the uptime requirements defined in the activity may require redundant or resilient connectivity links. There are. cases where multiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are unavailable in specific locations, or additional ISPs may mount the same fiber links as the incumbent ISP. With CuriosityCloud Direct Connect, customers can use a Site-to-Site VPN over connections, as well as public connections independently, allowing maximum resistance to ISP or private networks
